- 6-8 New York Strip Steaks 6-8 oz. per person
- 3-4 cloves garlic halved
- 3-4 Tbs. olive oil
- 6-8 tsp. Kosher salt
- 6-8 tsp. crushed black pepper
Rub the steaks with split garlic cloves then brush the meat with olive oil.
Use a generous amount of salt and pepper on both sides of the steak, rubbing it into the meat.
Let the meat come to room temperature before cooking. Twenty minutes on the counter, before hitting the hot grill will make for better steaks.
Don’t overcook the steak. The meat will be more tender if it’s on the rare side.
Cook a minute or two and turn the meat 90 degrees so you get nice grill marks.
Flip the steaks and repeat so you have grill marks on the other side.
Continue to cook for 2- 4 more minutes, until the meat is cooked to your preference, this will depend on the thickness of your steaks.
