15-Minute Skillet Chicken and Dressing

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ 10 oz. can cream of chicken soup can
  • ½ cup frozen vegetables optional
  • 1-1½ cups cooked chicken chopped
  • Tbs. butter melted
  • cup chicken broth
  • ½ 6 oz. box cornbread stuffing mix

Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup:

  • 2 Tbs. butter
  • 2 Tbs. flour
  • 6 Tbs. milk
  • 6 Tbs. chicken broth

Instructions

  • Stir milk and soup together. 
  • Pour into skillet and heat over medium heat.
  • Add frozen vegetables and chicken to skillet.
  • Heat thoroughly.
  • While that heats, stir butter, broth and dressing mix together.
  • When skillet is hot and bubbly, top with dressing mix.
  • Pop under the broiler in the oven for 3-5 minutes, till it begins to brown.

Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup

  • Melt butter in a pan.
  • Whisk in flour and cook, whisking constantly, for a minute or two until golden.
  • Slowly whisk in milk and broth and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
  • Use this in place of the ½ can of cream of chicken soup in the recipe.
