Steak Burgers with Red Wine Onions

Ingredients

For steakburgers:

  • lbs. ground beef
  • 1-2 eggs
  • ½ cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning
  • ½ tsp. seasoned salt
  • tsp. liquid smoke
  • 3-4 whole-wheat sandwich buns

For red wine onions:

  • ½ onion chopped or sliced
  • 1-2 cloves garlic crushed
  • ½ cup red wine

Instructions

For steakburgers:

  • Combine all the burger ingredients until well blended.
  • Pat out burgers.
  • Cook on the grill, an indoor grill or in a skillet.
  • Cook the onion and garlic till soft, using the same skillet you used to cook the burgers if cooked in a skillet.

For red wine onions:

  • Pour in about a cup or so of red wine and cook over medium heat, till the wine reduces.
  • Serve the onions over the burgers.
