Slow Cooker Sloppy Chicken Tacos

For the tacos:
- 1-1½ lbs. chicken tenders boneless
- 4 oz. can salsa verde
- 1 Tbs. taco seasoning equivalent of ½ package*
- 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 6-8 tortillas
- 1 small head lettuce shredded, optional for serving
- 1 tomato diced, optional for serving
- 1 avocado diced, optional for serving
- ¼-½ cup cheese shredded, optional for serving
- ¼ cup sour cream optional for serving
For the homemade taco seasoning:
- 3 Tbs. chili powder
- 1½ tsp. garlic powder
- ¾ tsp. onion powder
- ¾ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
- ¾ tsp. dried oregano
- 1½ tsp. paprika
- 1½ Tbs. ground cumin
- 1 Tbs. salt
- 1½ teaspoon black pepper
Mix together thoroughly.
Divide into three baggies.
This makes the equivalent of 3 commercial sized packages.
Place chicken in the slow cooker.
Stir remaining ingredients (except tortillas and cheestogether and pour over chicken.
Cook on high for 5-6 hours or on low for 7-8 hours.
Shred the meat and serve in tortillas, topped with cheese.
