Instant Pot Sloppy Chicken Tacos

Ingredients

For the tacos:

  • 1-1½ lbs. boneless chicken tenders
  • 4 oz. can salsa verde
  • 1 Tbs. taco seasoning equivalent of ½ package*
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 6-8 tortillas
  • 1 small head lettuce shredded, optional for serving
  • 1 tomato diced, optional for serving
  • 1 avocado diced, optional for serving
  • ¼-½ cup cheese
  • ¼ cup sour cream optional for serving

For the homemade taco seasoning:

  • 3 Tbs. chili powder
  • tsp. garlic powder
  • ¾ tsp. onion powder
  • ¾ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¾ tsp. dried oregano
  • tsp. paprika
  • Tbs. ground cumin
  • 1 Tbs. salt
  • teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Mix together thoroughly.
  • Divide into three baggies.
  • This makes the equivalent of 3 commercial sized packages.
  • Combine chicken, green chilies, taco seasoning and tomato sauce in the pressure cooker pot.
  • Set cook time for 15 minutes.
  • Do a quick pressure release.
