Slow Cooker Chicken ala King

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 2 10 oz. cans cream of chicken soup
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 dash of cayenne
  • 1 rib celery chopped
  • ½ cup green pepper chopped
  • ¼ cup onion chopped
  • 10 oz. frozen peas
  • 4 oz. jar pimentos

Instructions

  • Put all the ingredients in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
  • After cooking, shred chicken with a fork.

Notes

Don’t want to use cream of chicken soup? Melt ½ cup butter in a pan. Whisk in ½ cup flour and cook, whisking constantly, for a minute or two until golden. Slowly whisk in 1½ cup milk and 1½ cup broth and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
