Slow Cooker Beef Shawarma

Ingredients

For the shawarma:

  • 3 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 3 Tbs. olive oil
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. curry powder
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper ground
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1-1½ lbs. boneless beef steak thin cut
  • 3-4 pita bread rounds

For the cucumber sauce:

  • 4 oz. plain or Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • ½ small cucumber chopped

Instructions

For the shawarma:

  • Stir lemon juice, olive oil, salt, curry, cayenne pepper and garlic together in a small bowl.
  • Place meat in slow cooker.
  • Pour mixture over the top and stir to combine with meat.
  • Cook on high 5-6 hours or low 7- 8 hours.
  • Serve cooked meat in pita bread with cucumber-yogurt sauce.

For the cucumber sauce:

  • Combine the yogurt and cucumber.
