Fettuccine Alfredo

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fettuccine
  • 3-4 Tbs. butter sliced into pats
  • 1-1½ cups parmesan grated or shredded
  • several ladles of cooking water
  • fresh ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Boil the fettuccine according to the package directions.
  • Reserve some of the cooking water.
  • Drain and add the butter and Parmesan.
  • Ladle cooking water into pasta and stir, till the pasta looks creamy and the cheese is melted, adding water a bit at a time.
  • Season with pepper.
