- 1 lb. fettuccine
- 3-4 Tbs. butter sliced into pats
- 1-1½ cups parmesan grated or shredded
- several ladles of cooking water
- fresh ground black pepper to taste
Boil the fettuccine according to the package directions.
Reserve some of the cooking water.
Drain and add the butter and Parmesan.
Ladle cooking water into pasta and stir, till the pasta looks creamy and the cheese is melted, adding water a bit at a time.
Season with pepper.
