Italian Sausage Pasta Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 lb. bulk Italian sausage browned
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed or minced
  • 28 oz. crushed tomatoes
  • 6 oz. tomato paste
  • ¼ cup fresh basil chopped or 2 Tbs. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the sausage, onion and garlic in olive oil in a large skillet until the sausage is cooked through.
  • Stir frequently to break up the sausage.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste until well blended.
  • Add the basil, sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Let simmer until the pasta is finished cooking.
