Slow Cooker Velma's Chili

- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 green pepper chopped
- 2 stalks celery chopped
- 4 15 oz. cans kidney beans drained and rinsed
- 4 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes
- 2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
- 2 cups water
- 2 bay leaf
- ¼ cup chili powder
- 2 Tbs. sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup red wine
Brown the meat, onion, garlic and celery together and cook till the meat is done.
Drain the grease, rinse under hot water and put it back in the pot.
Add meat and remaining ingredients to the slow cooker.
Cook on high 2-3 hours or low 5-6.
