- ½ stick butter
- 1½ cups flour
- 1 Tbs. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1½ cups milk
- 3 eggs separated, at room temp
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips
In a large bowl, stir together the dry ingredients.
Melt the butter in a bowl in the microwave and stir the milk and then the egg yolks. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients, being careful not to over mix.
With an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Carefully fold the egg whites into the batter, then stir in the chocolate chips.
Cook in the waffle iron.
