Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Steak

Ingredients

  • 1-1½ lbs. boneless round steak or another cut of beef
  • ½ 7 oz. can salsa verde
  • ¼ cup chicken broth or beef broth or water
  • ½ tsp. chili powder
  • ½ tsp. cumin
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 onion small, sliced
  • 6-8 tortillas whole wheat or corn
  • 1 head lettuce small, shredded, optional for serving
  • 1 tomato diced, optional for serving
  • 1 avocado diced, optional for serving
  • ¼-½ cup cheese shredded, optional for serving
  • ¼ cup sour cream optional for serving

Instructions

  • Put the steak and onions in the slow cooker.
  • Combine the salsa, broth and seasonings.
  • Pour over the steak.
  • Cook on high for 5-6 hours or low for 7-8 hours.
  • Shred the meat and serve in the tortillas with the fixings.

Notes

*Note: Freeze remaining half can of salsa verde for future us
