Slow Cooker Velma's Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small green pepper chopped
  • 1 stalk celery chopped
  • 2 15 oz. cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes
  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 Tbs. chili powder
  • 1 Tbs. sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup red wine

Instructions

  • Brown the meat, onion, garli,c and celery together and cook till the meat is done. 
  • Drain the grease, rinse under hot wate,r and put it back in the pot.
  • Add meat and remaining ingredients to the slow cooker. 
  • Cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 5-6.
