Slow Cooker Velma's Chili

- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 small onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 small green pepper chopped
- 1 stalk celery chopped
- 2 15 oz. cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes
- 15 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 Tbs. chili powder
- 1 Tbs. sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup red wine
Brown the meat, onion, garli,c and celery together and cook till the meat is done.
Drain the grease, rinse under hot wate,r and put it back in the pot.
Add meat and remaining ingredients to the slow cooker.
Cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 5-6.
