Slow Cooker Velma's Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 4 15 oz. cans kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 4 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes
  • 2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bay leaf
  • ¼ cup chili powder
  • 2 Tbs. sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup red wine

Instructions

  • Brown the meat, onion, garlic and celery together and cook till the meat is done. 
  • Drain the grease, rinse under hot water and put it back in the pot.
  • Add meat and remaining ingredients to the slow cooker. 
  • Cook on high 2-3 hours or low 5-6.
